Food Review: Kiwi

7/24/26

Hey guys! Silverware here! I've decided to do a new segment on this site where I rate foods because I'm not much of a food fan. The question 'What's your favorite food' is hard for me to answer because there isn't really any food or whatever that I'm super fond of. I'm basically just indifferent to most foods and apparently that's not normal according to my friends.

I have a kiwi (not the bird) with me and I'm going to review this fruit beloved by many; probably.

I ate some of the kiwi skin, it's not very appetizing. Some of the fruit is still attached to the skin after I peel it off but, once I chew on the skin by itself it tastes pretty bland. It has a very earthy taste but, not as earthy as something like moss. Eating the skin doesn't make me want to gag but, it doesn't make me want to keep eating it either. Anyways, usually you're not supposed to eat the skin of a fruit so, I don't know why I even bothered to do this.

  • The small area around the core of the fruit is really sweet. I don't really enjoy fruit when it's sweet, luckily it seems that the sweetness is only held near the bottom of the kiwi.

  • It's not very satisfying to bite into this, it feels too easy.

  • The inside of the kiwi where all of the seeds are is also pretty sweet. Not as much as where the core was but, it's not as sour as the outer core of the fruit.

  • I do like how the seeds are small enough so that if you chew on a bunch of them, you won't taste a bitterness.

  • Earlier I mentioned that the kiwi is sour which I did like. I'm a fan of sour fruit, just as long as it's not too sour to the point of it spoiling your enjoyment of the fruit. I used to really like lemons and limes, I used to eat them raw and whole but eventually I realized that they make my teeth feel brittle. Very brittle. Now, I don't eat entire lemons anymore.

While I did undeservingly bash this fruit when I first ate it, it was by no means abhorrent. The tartiness of the kiwi carried the taste of it, I think getting a different type of kiwi with less of a bittersweetness would taste a lot better. I'm not mad with it, it still tasted pretty good all throughout. I don't know if I would reccommend eating a kiwi but, if someone were to tell me 'I wanna get some kiwis' I would tell them kiwis taste pretty good.
